Mazda MX5 2009 Mk3.5 1.8SE
This is my latest arrival: its a 2009 Mk3.5 1.8 SE finished in black with black seats and trim. This one has had one previous owner and has covered 62800 miles and its in lovely condition throughout. Spec includes electric windows and mirrors, a mohair soft top and a trip computer.
Bodywork is in excellent condition with no dents, no scratches and of course no rust. Paintwork is also in lovely condition. Unfortunately these Mk3s can suffer from raging corrosion underneath. This one however has an exceptionally good underside and has recently had a full underside clean and was then protected with Dinitrol: its way better than most out there.
Inside, the cloth seats are in nice, clean condition as are carpets and all trim. Everything works as it should and its been fitted with a set of MX5 over-mats. The six speaker stereo has an AUX-IN port so its easy to connect your phone and it also has steering wheel controls too. Steering wheel, handbrake handle and gear knob are all leather-covered and feel good to touch and use, a small but important detail.
There is a small collection of paperwork - old MOTs etc but the full service history has yet to be passed onto me by its previous owner. I know that the first few services were carried out by Mazda main dealers while in later years, the car was looked after by long-time MX5 specialists Sam Goodwins in Nuneaton. Its clearly a car that has been cherished by its previous owner (who was also an MX5 Owners Club member). I have the original handbook pack, two keys and its still has its original tyre inflation kit present in the boot. The 16" alloy wheels are all in good condition as are the tyres.
Its just been serviced by us with new spark plugs, air filter, oil and filter and new brake fluid and its just gone through the workshop full a full inspection and check over. Its MOT tested until October 2026 but if the asking price is met, I'll include a new MOT and 6 months warranty administered by WarrantyFirst.
The photos here were taken after I had covered a 160 mile journey so while the car is a bit grubby, it drives fantastically well. The engine feels strong and the gearchange is just sublime. Handling is wonderful too while still offering lovely ride quality. My journey mentioned here was 'enthusiastic' and yet the car still managed to return just under 40mpg which was quite impressive.
As much fun as a Boxster but without the running costs and as much fun as a Mk1 MX5 but much more civilised. And the Mk3.5 is a huge improvement over the earlier Mk3 with revised suspension, gear change feel, engine and interior.
I'll write a proper advert along with decent photos soon but this is available now at £5495.
STATUS UPDATE: Now sold.
