Mazda Eunos 1.8 V-Special
Next car in the pipeline is this 1993 Mazda Eunos 1.8 V-Special. This one has covered about 6000 miles over the last nine years and has a chequered MOT history with it repeatedly failing on trivial items (its failed nine MOTs for various bulbs not working among other things).
Its had one lady owner for the last 14 years and while she may have been a bit rubbish at changing bulbs, I'm guessing that she at least kept the car garaged as there is absolutely zero rust. The underside has never had any repairs and it still has the original spot welds showing on the rear wheel arch/sill lip. Shock absorbers, springs and suspension arms are all in in exceptionally good condition too.
Its finished in Neo Green with tan leather seats and tan interior and has Nardi steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake handle along with electric windows and chrome electric mirrors. It also has a tan mohair soft top and a polished style bar. Unusually, this also has ABS fitted, quite rare on a Mk1.
Its covered 136700km so about 85000 miles and when I acquired it, it was fitted with an automatic gearbox which was playing up. This made the decision to convert it to a manual gearbox quite easy. A decent gearbox was sourced along with the various other parts and a new clutch was fitted along with new clutch master and slave cylinders. New braided clutch hard lines were fitted and I fitted new gear selector rubber boots (upper and lower). Its recently had new brake discs, calipers and pads all round too.
As part of my sales preparation, I have replaced spark plugs, plug leads, coil pack and throttle position sensor along with the usual oil and air filters. I still have a few minor things to sort out such as a new electric window mechanism, new aerial and finally it will have a new MOT.
It drives really well and feels very tight indeed with lovely handling. If anywhere lets it down, its paintwork: I don't think its ever been painted and it has its fair share of minor scratches, stone chips and various minor marks. Stand back ten feet and it looks excellent though and its a really good looking car but if you are a paint perfectionist, this isn't the car for you. However if you want that rarest of things these days, a very solid car, this is worth a look. I'll be posting more photos and a video highlighting everything over the next few days. Price for this one is £4750.
Available within the next few days and deposit secures it now.
