AK Automotive
Run by Fraser and Dan and based in Rowlands Gill near Newcastle upon Tyne. This is where MX5 anoraks (like me) go to buy their anoraks. They race, service and break MX5s and are an unending fountain of knowledge and enthusiasm - highly recommended. Also an excellent place to get four wheel alignment carried out properly.
Mention my name - I need all the goodwill I can get! Tel 01207 544071 or 07810 874821 http://www.akautomotive-mx5.co.uk/

The Jim Clark Room
If you are ever in my area, this is worth visiting: its a small museum in the Borders town of Duns and it tells the very moving story of our local F1 World Champion, Jim Clark. The room itself is not particularly huge but is packed with photographs, trophies and other regalia relating to Jim Clark's career. Jim was (and still is) worshipped up here and he lived and farmed near Chirnside - his grave can be found in Chirnside church.
Duns is around 17 miles away from me, but thanks to the superb and very quiet roads, its less than 20 minutes drive. http://www.scotborders.gov.uk/outabout/visit/museums/3240.html
